GGPoker Ontario will stage eight WSOP Online bracelet events from September 13 to October 5, 2026, including a record C$1 million guarantee for its Ontario Main Event.

The advertised guarantees total C$2.95 million. The series offers Ontario’s regulated online poker market its largest single-event guarantee since the province launched its regulated iGaming system in April 2022, according to GGPoker’s schedule.

Eight bracelet events

The series opens with the C$250,000 Kick-Off event on September 13. The Ontario Main Event will close the schedule on October 5.

  • September 14: Gladiators of Poker Ontario, C$300 buy-in, C$300,000 guarantee
  • September 20: Monster Stack, C$1,500 buy-in, C$300,000 guarantee
  • September 21: Colossus, C$400 buy-in, C$400,000 guarantee
  • September 27: Ultra Stack, C$600 buy-in, C$300,000 guarantee
  • September 28: PLOSSUS, C$400 buy-in, C$200,000 guarantee
  • October 4: The Closer, C$525 buy-in, C$200,000 guarantee
  • October 5: Ontario Main Event, C$1,000 buy-in, C$1 million guarantee

All amounts are in Canadian dollars. GGPoker says participants must be at least 19 and physically located in Ontario when they play.

A larger guarantee in a closed market

The schedule raises competitive pressure among Ontario’s regulated poker operators. It also concentrates several large events in the second half of September.

Operators can promote larger prize pools, but they must build them from a player pool that excludes participants outside the province. The market therefore faces a guarantee race without access to the international liquidity available to many global poker tournaments.

Shared liquidity remains unresolved

Ontario’s current rules require players to be physically in the province when they use regulated gaming sites. iGaming Ontario says games involving liquidity pools outside Ontario are prohibited at this time.

Ontario has asked the Supreme Court of Canada to consider whether its proposed international shared-liquidity model would comply with the federal Criminal Code. The proposal would preserve Ontario’s lottery scheme and regulatory controls while allowing Ontario players to join peer-to-peer games with players outside Canada.

The 2026 series will run on Ontario-only liquidity. Any expansion would depend on a court decision, regulatory action and agreements with other jurisdictions.

What changes for players

The immediate change is the size of the guarantee, not the platform’s legal reach. Ontario players will have access to a larger flagship tournament, but Canadian residents outside Ontario cannot enter the regulated event pool solely because they are Canadian residents.

A C$1 million guarantee may increase attention and competition between platforms. GGPoker must still attract enough Ontario entries and satellite qualifiers to support the event within the province’s ring-fenced market.

The series will provide a measure of whether Ontario’s regulated poker market can sustain large guarantees without shared liquidity. Participation, prize-pool performance and any future legal clearance will determine whether the market can widen its player pool.
