Alberta’s first full month of regulated iGaming produced a fast-moving online-slots ranking, with Pragmatic Play titles leading the province and the wider Canadian segment on bet365’s platform in August.

The results cover August 2026, the first complete calendar month after Alberta’s regulated market opened on July 13. The rankings provide an early view of player activity. They are not an official measure of Alberta’s total gaming revenue or market share.

bet365’s rankings show which games attracted attention on one platform. They do not show how much Albertans wagered, how much operators retained or how much tax the province collected.

Pragmatic Play takes Alberta’s top spot

Pragmatic Play’s Fortune of Olympus ranked first on bet365’s Alberta chart. The title climbed 17 places from its July position at No. 18.

Games Global’s Amazing Link Zeus held second place. Amazing Link Apollo entered the chart at No. 3, while Aristocrat’s Mo’ Mummy Valley of Riches debuted at No. 4.

bet365’s own Pride of the Serengeti posted the largest rise among existing titles. It moved 27 places to No. 6. Another bet365 exclusive, High Flyer, finished tenth.

  • Fortune of Olympus, Pragmatic Play, No. 1

  • Amazing Link Apollo, Games Global, No. 3
  • Mo’ Mummy Valley of Riches, Aristocrat, No. 4
  • Pride of the Serengeti, bet365, No. 6

Ontario shows a more established pattern

Ontario’s chart was more stable at the top. Area Link Phoenix Firestorm, developed by Area Vegas and supplied through Games Global, ranked first for a third consecutive month.

Playtech’s Blue Wizard rose six places to No. 2. Light & Wonder’s Huff N’ Even More Puff Grand climbed seven places to No. 3.

Ontario also recorded several new top-10 entries, including bet365 Pop-A-Shot LuckyTap, Pragmatic Play’s Great Rhino Megaways and IGT’s Triple Gold.

Pragmatic titles also lead the wider Canadian chart

Across bet365’s broader Canada segment, Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Rush Bonanza moved from No. 17 to No. 1. The title combines elements associated with the supplier’s Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush franchises.

Pragmatic Play also placed Gates of Olympus Super Scatter fourth and Buffalo King Megaways eighth. Relax Gaming’s Temple Tumble ranked third after rising 11 places.

The rankings point to early demand for established casino franchises and new content. They do not measure the full size or value of Alberta’s regulated market.

Why the numbers need careful reading

bet365’s monthly report ranks slot games on its own casino platform. Its methodology considers measures such as revenue, stakes, sessions and player engagement across thousands of titles.

That makes the report an operator-specific engagement indicator. It does not represent all licensed operators in Alberta, and it does not include every form of online gambling.

Alberta’s market is overseen commercially by the Alberta iGaming Corporation, while Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis regulates the market. The province’s official framework sets the minimum age for online betting at 18.

The framework also directs part of net iGaming revenue to operators, government programs, First Nations initiatives and social responsibility funding.

Official Alberta revenue data has not yet been shown

Alberta has not published a comparable province-wide monthly market performance report in the material available for August. Readers should not treat bet365’s rankings as an Alberta market total.

Ontario offers a clearer comparison because iGaming Ontario publishes monthly figures for eligible operators with trading activity. Its reports exclude Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s iGaming offering and pari-mutuel horse-racing wagers.

Ontario’s older market and broader reporting system make it more suitable for province-wide analysis. Alberta’s August rankings are better understood as an early signal of which games attracted attention on one major platform during the market’s opening phase.
