PURE Casino Entertainment has joined the International Betting Integrity Association after entering Alberta’s regulated online sports-betting market. The membership adds independent integrity monitoring as the operator expands beyond its seven land-based casinos.

IBIA announced the membership on August 25, 2026. Canadian Gaming Business reported the development on August 26. PURE operates seven casino properties across Alberta and is owned by Indigenous Gaming Partners, a partnership involving five Nova Scotia First Nations and Sonco Gaming.

What the monitoring role covers

An Independent Integrity Monitor reviews betting information for suspicious activity. It can share relevant intelligence with regulators and sports organizations. The monitor operates separately from the sportsbook operator.

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, known as AGLC, regulates the province’s iGaming sector. The Alberta iGaming Corporation handles commercial agreements, anti-money laundering matters, financial arrangements and income reporting with operators.

AGLC’s public registry lists IBIA as an Independent Integrity Monitor and iGaming goods or services supplier. The registration expires on July 13, 2027.

PURE expands beyond physical casinos

PURE’s online launch broadens a business that was previously focused on physical casinos. Indigenous Gaming Partners acquired PURE Canadian Gaming in December 2024. It completed its acquisition of Gamehost in June 2026.

The Gamehost transaction added Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Great Northern Casino in Grande Prairie, and Rivers Casino & Entertainment Centre in Fort McMurray. PURE now describes itself as Alberta’s largest casino operator by property count.

Kambi supplies the sportsbook technology for PURE’s online platform and retail sports-betting plans. The arrangement gives PURE access to a specialist as it develops a product that is new to the company.

Alberta’s market sets new operating requirements

Alberta’s regulated iGaming market opened on July 13, 2026. Operators must register with AGLC and sign a commercial agreement with AiGC before conducting and managing an online platform.

The framework also includes player-protection requirements. AGLC says registered operators must integrate with its centralized self-exclusion program. Players can use the program to exclude themselves from online platforms, land-based casinos, racing entertainment centres, or all three.

Alberta sets the minimum age for online betting at 18. It is the second Canadian jurisdiction, after Ontario, to adopt an open licensing model for private online operators.

PURE’s IBIA membership does not replace AGLC regulation. It adds a separate integrity-monitoring function required under Alberta’s sportsbook framework.

IBIA said its network includes more than 90 companies and over 200 betting brands. The association said its members monitor more than US$300 billion in annual sports-betting turnover across more than 1.5 million sporting events.

The practical issue for Alberta is how quickly the monitoring structure can identify suspicious activity as the province adds operators, products and betting customers. PURE’s entry brings that test to one of Alberta’s largest casino groups.
