Bet365 is listed among Alberta’s regulated online gaming sites, adding its casino and sportsbook platforms to the province’s private iGaming market.

The Alberta iGaming Corporation’s official directory lists Bet365 Casino and Bet365 Sportsbook as registered sites. The casino platform identifies Hillside International Gaming ENC as licensed and regulated by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis under Registration ID 120500.

Bet365’s listing gives eligible Alberta customers another regulated option for online casino games and sports betting. It also places the operator under the province’s verification and responsible gambling rules.

What changes for Alberta players

Bet365’s listing adds another combined casino and sportsbook brand to Alberta’s regulated market. The system opened on July 13, 2026.

Alberta became the second Canadian province to establish a regulated private online gaming market. Ontario opened its system on April 4, 2022, according to Global News and the Canadian Press.

Before Alberta’s market opened, customers mainly used PlayAlberta or unregulated and offshore services. The new framework gives operators a legal route to offer online gaming while requiring regulatory oversight.

Separate roles for Alberta’s gaming bodies

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis regulates the industry. The Alberta iGaming Corporation conducts and manages the province’s commercial iGaming framework, including commercial agreements, financial reporting and related obligations.

Operators must complete both parts of the provincial process. Registration with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis and inclusion in the Alberta iGaming Corporation’s consumer directory reflect separate elements of the system.

The official directory lists Bet365 Casino and Bet365 Sportsbook among approved consumer-facing sites.

Age checks and self-exclusion

Alberta’s online gambling market is limited to people aged 18 and older. Operators must also connect to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis’s centralized Self-Exclusion Program.

  • Players can exclude themselves from all registered online gaming platforms.
  • They can exclude themselves from land-based casinos and racing entertainment centres.
  • They can choose both online and land-based exclusions.

Bet365’s Alberta help materials state that customers must complete Alberta-specific identity verification. Only accounts registered and verified in the province can place bets from Alberta.

Why the expansion matters

Bet365’s arrival increases competition among Alberta’s regulated operators. The province is testing whether a broad legal market can attract activity that previously moved to offshore sites while maintaining controls over identity, location, advertising and safer gambling.

The number of platforms is only one measure of the market’s impact. Regulators and the Alberta iGaming Corporation will also face scrutiny over advertising volume, account verification, payment controls, complaints and access to self-exclusion.

For customers, the practical change is greater choice within the regulated system. The key safeguards remain age limits, provincial identity checks and the ability to block access across participating online and land-based venues.
